Updating

Time to update on what has been happening.

On the Cleo front his wound appeared this morning. It was on his left ear. An abscess was starting to form, so I lanced it and drained it and gave him some pain medication (I had some leftover from Prowler) and also started him on antibiotics. I have had this wonderful boy for over ten years and this is the first time he ever tried to bite me, because he was in so much pain. It was so intense for him, that when I gave him the antibiotic, he snapped at the syringe and put a hole in it! Poor kitty.

He is much better now though, the swelling and heat has gone down and he is eating. I ended up putting him out in the patio where he has room to hide if he wants. He really freaks out inside the house, and even though the outer doors of the patio are closed, he is much more comfortable with himself out there. Tip is out there as well keeping him company.

On the catman front, nothing new to report. I heard from Mark Wells of the Animal Abuse Investigation Team and he gave me some more people that might be able to help. But it looks like, the cats are going to have to stay with the man no matter what.

I went to Dallas today to talk to Rachel about my new assignment for Quilter’s Home. I always like talking with Rachel , she is a delight. She had a cat question, so I went over to her son’s house to take a look at their cat who is a bit brain-damaged and her new litter. The litter was a surprise, Rachel said. She thought she had told the vet to spay her long ago. Momcat doesn’t have a clue what it is she has to do and while she was birthing the kittens she was screaming. I told Rachel, cats don’t scream when they are giving birth. I told her to get the cat to the vet and start bottle feeding the babies.
