Poor Kitty

I set up a second vaporizer for Zavan- poor kitty- I have snot from one end of the bedroom to the other! I put him in a carrier and covered him up good and scrubbed the floor and shelves and stripped the bed. I put old cat blankets on the bed and underneath a rubber sheet. He’s dripping and sneezing, but he is eating using the litter box and wanting love. he’s still really weak but he is inquisitive and a bit upset with me when I touch his poor nose to put drops in them and put ointment in his eyes.

I’m just pulling for him and doing all I can. My one cat Pippi who a vet told me had FIP and would die (this was months ago) I argued with her and told her she was wrong- she turned out to be wrong and I put Pippi on doxy suspecting she had bartonella and she is fine today. Her eye still erupts from time to time, but she is active and loving and alive. She wasn’t as old as Zavan or in as bad shape, but I am still pulling for this drug to work its magic.

I left the big cage open and he decided to sleep inside of it

eatingThankfully, he does come out to eat! So there is still hope he can pull through this-

  1. Sounds as if he’s getting alot of the sickness out. The main thing is he’s also eating and using the box. Hang on Zavan!!

  2. I agree with Marian. He wouldn’t be making a mess of his room if his illness wasn’t undergoing a big change, and it doesn’t sound like it’s winning. But it doesn’t sound like it’s giving up without a fight, either. Good luck to Zavan!

  3. God Bless you for all you are doing, Mary Anne! It is so much appreciated! Thank you!

  4. When I was visiting Best Friends, they would vaporize IN the carriers to make it more direct….something to think about to maybe speed him along. But hey – he is still eating and has enough energy to trash the room (and cover it in snot) 🙂

  5. funny how we get so excited about a sick kitty eating and pooping. Zavan has a big will to live and is fighting with all he has.

You can do it little chocolate love, we are all pulling for you.

Thank you Mary Anne for all you do for them that can not do for themselves. You will truly be blessed!

  6. Precious, precious boy! I’m pulling for him. He’s a fighter and my prayers are with him. Thank you for all you do! God bless you!

  7. In regards to Sue Olson’s Comment……………LOL !! I’ve been on poop watch (and other) watches before. It takes so little to please a kitty momma doesn’t it?

  8. Sweet Zavan, I found myself “petting” you on the computer monitor! Stay strong little man. You’re in great, loving hands and have lots of people praying for you.

    I agree Marian. 🙂

  9. What an absolute sweetheart he is! Looks so much like my black cat, Woody–snot nose and all. Woody was a stray and since I’ve had him he developed chronic sinus problems (along with stomatitus). I have him on clavamox pills – one a day. I get tap water really hot and put about a tbls of hot water in a cup with his pill, wait for it to dissolve (and cool) and mix it up with his food. Easy peasy. Good luck and best wishes to both you and Zavan!

  10. So glad he is eating, even though he feels like snot. Purrs to you little Zavan. Each day will get a little better. Thank you for taking good care of this lovin’ sweetheart.
