Zavan

This boy went gently into the wind. He is not bounding over the Bridge, he is flying. He is breathing unencumbered and his nose no longer resembles Niagra Falls. He carries secret messages within his heart for a special someone who is waiting for him.

God Bless the Man who couldn’t drive by this straggly looking kitty. God Bless the pet author he remembered meeting and wrote to asking who can help Zavan- and most of all, God Bless this Brown and Black Kitty who carried within him the courage of a tiger-

  1. Thank you for showing him some unconditional love, and a peaceful end to his days.

  2. Thank you to the man who started a love chain for this little chocolate boy, thank you for remembering who to call. Thank you Mary Ann for giving yourself to Zavan, Thanks to Zavan for being so brave. R.I.P Zavan

  3. Zavan will be remembered. The worst of being a stray, whether animal or human, is that no one knows you. But Zavan was known and cared for and given a name; someone loved him enough to try to help him live, and loved him enough to stop trying.

  4. sometimes it’s like that isn’t it? You can clearly see in your mind and heart their freedom. Some I’ve seen slowly walk away – but it’s the ones that FLY that are special! God Speed Zavan!

  5. I will try to write more soon. It has been a very fast paced and intensive two weeks since we found Zavan alone, hungry and cold and needing a home and love. It has been a week since Zavan and I made our trek to meet Mary Anne and for him to explore his first real home in a very long time. It will take a few days to re-adjust from the checking this blog every 30 minutes or more to see of any new comments and updates. While I will still do that, probably a bit less frequently without Zavan. But, my message here is I will collect my thoughts and write a note of thanks to Chris and that most rare person, Maryanne, here for all the love and support of Zavan. Most importantly I will be thanking all the many friends of Mary Anne who have been so wonderfully fantastic to Zavan during this most crucial time for him! God Bless you all, and more later when the words will form more effectively! Thank you!

  6. Bill, thank you for your kind heart! Thank you for giving Zavan your unconditional love and most of all thanking God that you were led to Mary Anne, our Cat Whisperer, who is the voice for all these beautiful strays that touch our hearts. Mary Anne, asking God to give you continued strength for all you do for these purr animals and for hubby. Zavan, may you fly with the angels over the rainbow’s bridge and know how much you were loved even for a short moment in time.

  7. Bill, thank you so much for opening your heart to this sweet little boy who desperately needed help. When you brought Zavan to Mary Anne, you put him into the arms of a true earth angel. Thank you, MA, for giving this special cat a safe and warm place to rest for awhile. Even though his journey was meant to continue in the stars, I’m certain it was you who helped him find his wings. I’m sorry I didn’t get to meet Zavan, but through you, and Bill, I came to know his spirit. I will never forget him.

  8. Bill I too thank yoiu for caring about this boy. Between you and Mary Anne, he found compassion, love and kindness. Bless the both of you!

  9. I am so sorry he didn’t make it, but so glad he didn’t die neglected, cold and alone. He found compassion, and loving care, and I know if he could have recovered, he would have. It does matter when we stop, when we take the time to care and act on it. It matters even if the love is only shared for a short time, that the love was shared.

  10. To both Bill and MA,

Thank you. I can’t think of anything more to say other than, dammit you made me cry! 😉 So, anyway, Thank You!

Godspeed, Zavan! Say hello to MA’s Shell and my Rigby.

  11. We are so sorry that Zavan couldn’t make it through, but he’s free of all earthly care and pain now. Sometimes it’s just too much for them to fight. Thank you for trying so hard to give him a chance, he knew love, which matters.

    Love and rumbly purrs.

  12. Zavan couldn’t have been delivered into more capable hands, nor a more loving home.

The love for Zavan made its ripples around the globe. But that care, that love, and all our prayers couldn’t undo the damage that had already been done. It breaks our hearts, but Zavan rejoices because Bill couldn’t turn a blind eye, and because he was ushered with love by an angel on earth.

I’m so sorry. ((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))) for Bill and for MA.

  13. We just read that sweet little Zavan had gone. The tears are running, and no breath is coming through aching throat. We wanted this one to make it so badly. We are glad that he had love and care for his last days on earth. Thank you. Run free, Zavan!
