I am glad your Fluffy pulled through. All attempts for Prowler failed and she is now tucked in with the angels.

i too have a male cat who started licking himself and crying and even howling. it was pityfull. well we took our fluffy to the vet and he was plugged. she sucessfully unplugged him with saline in a cathater and he remained on antibiotics and pain meds for 1 week. we have always feed our cats purina cat chow. it never bothered our other cats but just fluffy. so we took him home 2 weeks later he was plugged again,,,, this time she could not get him unplugged. she had to knock him out and after many tears she called and said he was finally unplugged. fluffy also is on the royal canine urinary so, and like u said it makes him very thirsty hence keeping him unplugged. it is pretty expensive but i cannot see him going through that all his life. Fluffy and Boris are both eating that food and are both happy. my vet bill was around 1200 dollars but well worth it.

My tom cat gets like that we took him to the pound and he was all plugged up not eating peeing just a little had the blood in the urine sooo scarey. took him to the vet and she unplugged him and kept him on a iv for 4 days at the hospital. he is doing real good now i believe it is in the food we feed our kittys Fluffy is only allowed to eat Royal canin veterinary diet. the name of it is urinary so..30 feline. ever since i had him well both my cats on it they have not been sick any more. the food makes them drink alot of water hence keeping him from getting plugged up again. cost me over 1200 dollars but geee we love our fluffy
