It’s Been One Weak, Week

Vic is not running around the room, chasing his tail, or scrambling after cat toys, but he can now get to the water bowl without assistance, use the litterpan in the daytime. (He sometimes misses it at night).

He still spends the majority of the day sleeping in the doorway. There is a second cat upstairs with him, and yesterday I left her door open and kept his shut while I was cleaning his room. She came to his screen and he heard her coming and showed interest (not aggression) They sniffed noses and then he laid down again. Today her door is open, his is shut and if she can keep him interested in living, I am all for it.

  1. Awww, sweet Vic. Hang in there cutie, your life matters a great deal to many people. I adopted a sweet older gentleman from Petsmart a year ago yesterday. They said he was around 8 but when I brought him to my vet he estimated his age closer to 14-16 years old. Not only that but he was in advanced liver failure and had an enlarged heart and tumors in his lungs. I had him until January 7 when it was time to let him go. I named him Possum and I’ve never regretted adopting him.

  2. Been wondering about that sweet boy, glad he is still hanging in there.
Good on you for the recent adoptions. Hoping your bottle babies are doing
    well.

  3. Maybe Vic is just very old and doesn’t have the energy anymore. In any case, he probably loves the attention, the food and the security. It may be more than he’s known in a long time.

  4. Oh Mr. Vic, go ahead and take a load off! Peace and security after life’s long journey, what more could any of us ask for? Thank you for giving him shelter.

  5. Happy to hear this update. If it’s safe/appropriate to do so, can Vic’s doorway buddy become his bedroom buddy? Maybe he’d like to give headbutts to a kitty friend, too. Hope to hear encouraging news when his bloodwork results are back. Good news on the recent adoptions – hope the new arrivals do well and are quickly placed in loving homes.
