New Addition
Chappy is on the mend down, but the experience has changed him. He started pulling large chunks of hair out of his backside until I let him loose in the house, then he calmed down. His new behavior is to wait until we are asleep and then he starts to cry, little meows, as if he is scared. This went on for nights until I started to burn night-lights, now he sleeps by our side without a peep. I had even put Dash upstairs with him trying to keep Chap calmer, but it didn’t work. Releasing him into the general population was the only effective solution. His neck is healing up nicely.
We looked high and low for how he injured himself, but couldn’t find a thing. So that remains a puzzle as well.
We have a new German shepherd puppy, she is 6 weeks old and we have had her now for 3 days. She likes to chase the cats, but learns quickly that this is unacceptable. She appears to be quite smart. She has had a few accidents in the house, but she is young and should still be with mom. The people just wanted the puppies gone (that is the impression I got anyway). Here we all go through puppyhood yet again!
