“Trembles”

That is what I call this sweet 12 week old kitty who is having grand mal seizures. When I first heard about her, I asked if a vet had been consulted- the answer was no, the mom was a stray who had her kittens on their porch. I have been trying to get the kitten surrendered to me since and finally tonight, the woman said I could pick her up in the morning. It’s not in the budget right now, but I will take her to the vet ASAP. It is doubtful that she will survive this- but if there is a chance, our vet will find it. I understand the daughter got quite attached to this kitten who has been shunned by mom and littermates alike, but I hate to hear of animals suffering in any fashion and am glad I was able to finally persuade the family to turn her over to me. She is pitch black-

Speaking of trembles, I was a doing a good bit of trembling three days ago when a 10 inch cast iron skillet slid off the stove and landed on my foot. Thank God it was stone cold but it did some major tendon and tissue damage to my foot and it is hard to get around right now. Mike said he would cut it off for me! LOLĀ  I know he was kidding, but at one point I almost took him up on his offer because it hurt like the dickens! Nothing is broken but it will be at least a month before it returns to normal according to the doctor.

  1. Ouch! I hope your foot beats the doctor’s predictions and heals faster than a month. And I’m sending lots of purrs to Trembles – poor little kitty.

  2. Good Heavens, you have your troubles! I can bet that skillet has hurt your foot. And poor Trembles… All the ones with big problems find their way to you. I hope both you and Trembles heal quickly – though I know it’s a long shot for the kitten.

  3. Thanks guys. I have a lovely bruise the size of Manhattan on my foot right now but it could have so much worse.

This kitten has been suffering since birth and usually these seizures are not treatable. The fact that the family has let this kitten suffer for so long tears at my heart. But my vet has hutzpah and if there is a chance for this kitten to have a life- he will find it. There is no available funds to treat this kitten right now, but what else is new? Most rescues are saying the same thing to me. Nobody is donating right now- understandable as life is complicated anymore. But I still can’t let this kitten suffer when she might be able to be either helped with medicine or helped out of this world peacefully,
