Jet-Eye

He is at the vet’s as I type. He is getting rechecked for his heart murmur and if all goes well, they will neuter him either late today or tomorrow. He was starting to spray. His URI has resolved and his hot spots have calmed down a lot. He is the sweetest. mellowest tomcat I have ever met. I can’t imagine what the neuter will do to him- he is sweet enough already. But I can’t have a sprayer not after trying to resolve the situation here already with rampant cat pee.

12:19 p.m. The vet just called and said the heart murmur is very distinct. Although there is a chance he won’t make it through the surgery, I gave the go-ahead. He may be a sweet tomcat at a young age, but keeping him intact is not something I can do. Please say a prayer he makes it through- if not, at least he had almost a week of someone who actually cared about what happened to him.

3:52 p.m. Jet-Eye has made it through the neuter and is home and a bit loopy but he is eating and drinking. Sue it would be a long road trip to get him to you and with his heart murmur I don’t wish to risk it, otherwise I would contact Guardians of the Road to do a long-haul for me. The vet said he could live 7 days, 7 months, or 7 years. So I am probably just going to hang on to him until the right person comes along that wants him. I will run an ad for him this weekend but he is black that’s one strike, he has a heart murmur (strike two) and he is one-eyed (strike three). Sometimes, the people who go towards the special needs cats are a bit loopy themselves so I have to be careful.

Here is the skin problem he is having. This growth is only appearing under all four of his legs.

  1. OMG I do pray he will be ok, he needs to have a furever home with human slaves to cater to him. massive prayers will come his way. be strong jetty!

  2. Even if he was not neutered for the sake of the heart murmur, one that serious would make him ill and take his life soon enough. We are sending housepanther purrs X 8 for his health and recovery.

  3. So far so good for the little fellow. He made it through surgery, and he is safe. There are people out there for him; he will have his home.

  4. am so grateful the he survived the surgery and Mary Anne if I thought he would make it to Florida I would come get him. you know that my Bob died suddenly from a blood clot, vet said was due to the heart murmur, the first clot paralyzed his back legs, the second one a few days later was painful for him and he cried and I cried and great now I cry again. but it was pretty quick maybe a minute and there was nothing we could do just love him and tell him it was ok to go. dam it! I would not want to put him through the journey, I can love him from afar I was able to get a little funds to send you, not much but hope it helps in any little way.

  5. Thank you Sue, I just found out about a new invention from Wholeful Pet that is called a Suro-Kitty. It is an artificial stand in for a nursing queen that kittens abandoned at birth can nurse off of! It is $175.00 to order one, so the monies will be put toward that end. I don’t know how many kittens it can nurse at one time, but if it can take 3-4 or even more- what a relief that would be!!Even better if it can stimulate a warm belly and purr- that would be phenomenal. It’s brand new not yet on the market- will premiere next month- but boy would it be great to have one!
