For the last two years a major department store has been gifting us with cat food and cat litter every week. Today when I went to do the pick-up I was told that there is a new manager and a policy change. All cat food and cat litter donations to us will stop as of next week. After that the local dog control will get all the food- even though the only thing they do to cats is put them to sleep. There’s no arguing the point, It’s a done deal.

I wonder how long that manager will last. Can you talk to the dog-control about taking their new cat-food and litter off their hands?
They are going to make it available to the public and use it for PR events as giveaways. They will share some of it- but not all of it. I am going to be going around to various places today to plead my case and see if someone has a heart big enough to look past the bottom line and help us out. Otherwise, I will have no choice. I will have to shut down. In the past even appealing to the various pet food companies has been to no avail. We aren’t big enough to matter. It was a sad evening last night here at the ponderosa 🙁
