Early Morning Drop-off

McGee is back at the vet this morning. His paw is incredibly swollen almost three times the size it should be and quite hot. He has no fever and still has a ravenous appetite. I have no clue what happened. If the cats are fighting they are doing it when we aren’t home because I hear any scuffle that goes on. He’s not a fighter and that baffles me, plus there are no new cats in the house to cause friction. Maybe it is something they missed before from the last incident?

  1. Hi Mary Anne

My cat Baby had exactly the same thing once
and the vet said it was an insect bite or sting.
He gave an injection, I think it was an anti-histamine,
and the swelling was down by the next day.
    Sending healing vibes for Mcgee.

  2. just talked to the vet- McGee’s paw is all black and blue and shows about 6 bites on it! I asked what kind of bites and they couldn’t tell me. They have given him an antibiotic shot and wrapped his paw up and he is released to come home. They want him on clindimycin for at least 10 days to avoid an abscess.
