“Happy Mew Year!”

This note was found stuck on my pillow (courtesy of a hairball from kitty of unknown origin) this morning as I woke up

“The Miller Kitties Mew Year’s Resolutions”

We promise Mom, no more leaving hairballs on the stairs or in your slippers. Instead, it has been unanimously decided to leave them in the dog’s food bowl and watch him go the vet for a change!

We need a new sacrificial sofa. The one upstairs is clawed to bits and looks like an extra in a Friday the 13th horror flick! The stuffing has been fun to play with- but do you really need to get your vacuum plugged up three times a day? Get us a new victim Mom, or your other furniture downstairs will be taken hostage- and it won’t be pretty!

We promise not to get underfoot when you cook! (Ok, we lie) We like getting in your way because it causes you to drop food on the floor and then we swarm like sharks!

No more Kitty Kamakazee camp in the mornings, but would you PLEASE hurry up and finish that custom climbing wall you are building for us? Honestly Mom, the drapes are become old news and shredded wheat by now!

We demand more BUGS! Put that cleaning cloth away and open up the doors and invite the spiders and beetles inside. We are prey-driven and ready to strike!

Baker (you know he is the one with no manners) has asked you no more kitties this year! We told him that wasn’t the thing to ask, but he just harrumphed and went back to cleaning his fur. He mumbled something about you needing a heart transplant – one of someone with little emotions towards the suffering of others. We told him he was being selfish and should be banished to the barn!

And finally Mom, we ALL promise more down time with you. More kitties to pour on your lap, purr in your ear, snuggle on your chest and lick the tears away on days that simply overwhelm. Piper says she is really good at neck massages and you know her purr motor is primed and ready to go. You keep telling us how amazing we are- well right back atcha Mom! And should we be blessed to find a home as full of love as this one and become someone else’s bright spot in their day- please know- we will NEVER forget you!

Love…

Your clowder
