Two more kitties come into the group

Today was a busy day. Mike went suddenly blind in his right eye and because Diiabetes can cause blindness, I was quite concerned. He went to the eye doctor who determined that he had a bleeder (one of the veins behind his retina break open and bleed and mix with the vititrous (I know I spelled that wrong) to tired to care- aka the eye juice and fill up the back of his eye and block his sight.

The good news is it is fixable, the bad news is they can’t do it like laser surgery in the office so he has to go to the hospital, this time in Salem to have it done. They will have to put two rods into his eyes and somehow separate the fluid from the blood and clean it all out. It is a day surgery unless there is a “complication.”

We got back quite late and I just had time to go over and pick up Jasmine and Tinker- the two kitties whose owner is going back to Australia and she couldn’t afford the thousands of dollars to ship the two cats and put them through quarantine, so I told her I would take them. Tinker is a sweet mackeral tabby neutered boy and Jasmine is pure white and right now hiding under the bed.

I felt so bad for Sharon, this type of owner-surrender is never easy and I could tell she had been crying all day. I could only hug her and tell her I will do right by these two lovely cats and thank her for all the goodies they came with.

Tomorrow, ShyAnn arrives back here and I really do hope that it is temporary and not another episode of the owners simply tiring of the cat and wanting a kitten. But time will tell- they say they are moving and as soon as they are settled, they will be back to get her. She doesn’t care for other cats so she will go upstairs where she liked to be before.

I don’t have photos of the new arrivals, but I do have an old one of ShyAnn she is a beautiful dilute calico-
