“I am only one..

“I am only one but still I am one. I cannot do everything but still I can do something; and because I cannot do everything, let me not refuse to do the something I can do.”

I love that quote by Edward Everett Hale so I wanted to share it with my readers. There are times when I wonder what God has planned next but I would never want to know what is coming as it would diminish the faith I have that He makes everything right.

Tonight at the grocery store, the manager approached me and said the store is going to make a one-time donation of cat food to CATS Inc! I have no idea the size of the donation and will find out tomorrow when I show up to pick up this loving gift. I am truly humbled that God always reveals himself in the details of my life and the only thing I can do to pay him back is remain faithful, read the word and help those who need it along the way.

I shared the Wynter story with a dear Christian friend of mine and she wrote back something that made me smile:

God knew where to place that baby in order to get food, warmth, and love! I was just imagining Him watching you leave, driving to the store, and then He has a little smile as He whispers to that precious kitten: “She is on the way little one.”

I grumbled all the way to the store last night. It was cold, I was tired, but Mike needed milk. Now I am sorry for the grumbles and God has blessed me with yet another sweet mackeral tabby kitty whose purrsonality jumps out at all who encounter her. Next time, I will keep the grumbles to myself-

  1. I don’t think God minds when people grumble. Only people who know they can’t do everything grumble. I can’t see God minding when we know our limitations. Besides, it makes it a better surprise when He puts a gift in our path.
