A Note of Thanks

This just in from Truman’s owner:

Mary Anne,
I have put some pictures of Truman on your facebook page. I have enjoyed him so much. He is really opening up. I am the cat whisperer. I have needed him a lot since I am going through empty nest syndrome. I am so grateful for all the gracious people who made sure that Truman had a loving home. He gets tuna a lot and his coat is really silky. He had a ear infection that is being treated and his eyes are clearing up. No more eye buggers. He sings a lot. I hear him when he is settling down for a nap he sings.

My favorite moment so far with him is when he was smiling so big he had dimples!! Never knew a cat could do that. I hope to one day be able to get it on film. I love the way he sashes around the house. Makes me think of a cartoon.

Midgie Moo from Katmandu and him are getting along famously. They race around the house like two stallions. I don’t have the heart to tell them not to run in the house. (Remember I have empty nest syndrome) They are my other kids.

Truman Cat of Contentment
truThank you again everyone.

  1. Was this the woman who could not afford Truman’s deposit because of the heartless landlord or is this a new home for Truman? Either way I salute him – I needed to see a happy ending today and I can only imagine how you must feel.
Congrats and God Bless to you and to him!!

  2. This is from the woman who “fostered” Truman for me, fell in love with him and then called me in tears to tell me she had lost her home and had to move into an apartment. The new apartment pet fee was $600.00! (out-frigginrageous!) I asked her to hold off a bit, and put up a plea here on my blog to see if the money could be raised. It was raised within 48 hours!! She couldn’t believe it when I presented her with the check and she called everyone she knew to share the miracle.

While she was packing, I stopped by to say goodbye to Truman. He was in the living room. He saw me- recognized me and tried to dart under the bed- but the frame had been removed and the mattress was on the floor. He bounced pretty hard against that padding. LOL I know he thought I was coming to take him away from her and they are solidly bonded. He was telling me in the only way he could that he was staying right where he was at!

Thank you to ALL of you who opened up your hearts and wallets to this pair. It is still so hard for me to ask for monies from strangers because of all the scams going on the Internet today. I try to be sure to validate why I ask for monies with photos and follow-ups. I know every one is hurting right now in this strange economy and it touched my heart that the monies came in so quickly so these two could be together. So again thank you. I believe that you not only touched my heart- and Trumans and Kelly’s but the hearts of others who heard about this generous “give.”

  3. Always remember, YOU are not asking for money for yourself – you are asking for THEM. I think Truman is worth so very much more than $600 – but don’t tell the landlord.

  4. Nice update! Glad they are together. Did she also have to put up a $600 deposit for Midgie Moo as the lease shared earlier stated $600 per pet? Sheesh!

  5. Yes she did, and she was so conflicted. She had Midgie first and had her covered. Understandably, she couldn’t manage both fees. Honestly, some things should be against the law!

And Marion, I agree. Truman is worth way more than $600.00! The fact that these two got to stay together was priceless.

  6. Thank you so much for posting an update! That brought a much needed smile to my face! So glad I could help out no matter how small! 🙂 Good job Mary Anne!
