Cagney

Well, the good news is she isn’t constipated and she does NOT have FIP. The bad news is she has completely fallen in love with her food bowl! She is now on a restricted diet and since I don’t have a really good place to keep her by herself, there is a possibility that a woman might adopt her on Friday and give her all the attention and less food as required. Right now I have her on the patio and she is such a people cat she hates being alone.

  1. Poor Cagney. She really has been through a lot! I take it her trip to the vet this time was not as traumatic as last time?

Lord knows, I use food for comfort, I wonder if Cagney is doing the same thing?

I had to laugh though. My friend took in a stray cat and from the time of trapping her at a country house to having her visit a vet a few days later, she also ballooned up and both my friend and her vet assumed she was pregnant. Nope, she was just starving and wolfed down so much food that she only looked pregnant!

  2. Maybe Cagney will be a little less food obsessed once she moves to where she is the only kittie in the house. She could have decided that she better get that food while she can.

  3. sorry I had to laugh, I do hope she is able to get a loving home as an only cat. She looks like my pooh bear (bandit) that passed a few years ago at 13 yrs young from his second bout of cancer. Best of luck to you little lady!

  4. Uh Sue- at 7 months old she is 11 pounds. “little” doesn’t fit her at the moment! 🙂

  5. I think a bit of chubby on Cagney is just fine. I have one cat who is plump. She’s been like that all of her life and she is 10 years old now. I’ve tried to put her on a diet but it just stresses both of us out. I wouldn’t worry about this. she is beautiful and looks like a love

  6. She’s fat? That’s it? A bit anti-climactic. But that’s good, since it’s nothing more serious. I agree with others that Cagney is probably eating because she isn’t getting enough attention. That certainly isn’t your fault. Cagney may be the sort of needy cat who wouldn’t get enough attention from anyone unless she was an only cat. She’ll be all right, though; there’s nothing wrong with a bit of extra weight. Just ask my Josie!

  7. Happy to agree with John, anti-climatic. And that’s the best kind of Vet visit. Oh dear, my gang is chubby, all of them. Our whole house needs to cut out the treats, sigh. Pretty Cagney!
