The Deck Enclosure

Here is the finished building. The cats are still in hiding but in a few days, I suspect at least one of them will come out to explore. It’s quite comfortable in there and at least they are safe now.

There is a possibility that I might have found a home for one of the new cats. I will know in a few days- but Keegan who is very friendly may be moving to a loving home and living with a relative of a dear friend of mine. Fingers crossed that this will work out.

  1. looks amazing, George is a God send for sure and your vision of what it can be. WOW I am sure they will love it when they venture out, I would not be surprised if they were out when they know you are not around

    Great Job

  2. Wow, a lot happened with you over the weekend. You’ve been able to find several homes, which is excellent and the new shelter is finished. You’ve been busy. I can’t believe that Karen kept those cats in carriers for weeks. Where did they relieve themselves? How would they have wanted to? Talk about relief – they must be happy to have some space now.

What sort of door do you have on the new enclosure?

  3. If you look in one of the photos you will see through the front screen door (a homemade door made by Mike from leftover wood and pet screen) you will see the carrier she kept two of the cats in. No litterpan found inside, just pieces of newspaper. As skinny as these two are, I suspect little food was offered and or eaten. There was no water in there either.

I am happy to report that this morning, all the wet food had vanished, the litterpans showed activity but they are still hiding which is totally expected.

  4. What an existence those cats had; it couldn’t have been called a life. What was the point in the woman ‘rescuing’ those animals? They were better off un-rescued. Now, though, they have a chance at a permanent home, and if not that, then at least a warm and safe foster-home with food, cleanliness and affection.
