On the matter of Jordan…

NOTHING ontoward or bad happened to Jordan in that home. I would bet on it. I don’t know very many 80 year old women who would be willing to spend half a morning flat on the floor of their living room trying to gain a cat’s trust! My Mother would never do it, I do know that. I would do it, but I’m strange anyway. 🙂

I believe in my heart that something in the house didn’t set right or smell right or sound right to jordan and she just couldn’t relax. This is a kitty who came so close to being lunch for a python in her last “home.” Jordan has baggage and she has demons. Some cats can move past their triggers, while others get caught up in the moment and can’t move on.

I have one kitty here, we’ve had her over twelve years now. If I even think about burning a candle in our home, she pees all over herself. Another kitty, if I sneeze multiple times will run into the room and try to attack me. Both these kitties come from high-risk situations.

So please don’t beat up the people who opened their heart and home to Jordan. I know two of them well and they love cats and would never hurt one. And the woman in the home- she loves them just as much. She just needs a bombproof kitty and Jordan isn’t bombproof- she’s explosive!

Ok now I have to go feed Sinatra- the baby with gorgeous blue eyes

  1. I love that you cleared that up. After your last post on I-5 kittens, it’s really nice to hear of the kindness of some humans. I’ll thank her from here, for her extraordinary efforts to help Jordan. Thank you!

  2. Poor Jordan. If feel bad that she couldn’t relax with a person who sounded like she really cared. I had a semi-feral cat once. I realized pretty quickly I was going to be a caregiver and not get much back. That was OK. By the time my Timmy turned 12, he actually trusted me enough to let me pet him with my hand instead of my foot (foot came at 2 yrs old when he’d sneak up on the corner of my bed when I was sleeping). He loved belly rubs and had a rug for a fur coat. He never would sit on my lap or even come near the couch or chair to sit with me, but I understood. When his time came, I didn’t force medications or treatment on him. I knew that would be torture to him and his quality of life would not be enhanced by trying to keep him alive a little longer.

  3. i was just on the bed folding socks and Jordan jumped up to lay in my lap! She stayed there for about 10 minutes, then she heard George outside and jumped down to slide under the bed again.

  4. I’m thinking she isn’t going to be leaving anytime soon. I will let her decompress. Perhaps she will help Goof learn to trust and she has been hearing Sinatra’s cries and coming out to see where he is.

  5. Here she is out on the bed. Not quite relaxed yet, but working on it. Goofy has her a bit out of sorts. He is rolling over near her wanting to play. She is not amused- LOL

    Jordan finally home

  6. Just to let everyone know, Jordan is now out and about in the house mingling with the rest of the cats and no worse for wear. She slept on my chest last night and stayed next to me as I fed Mason. I guess it is safe to say that Jordan is now where she needs to be.
