Only I can go to the grocery store and return with a kitten-

My life is sometimes laughable. I walked into the grocery store and I heard this rapid panting. I am looking around and find between some advertising signs- this terrified kitten. I pulled her out and hustled her to the truck and put her in a carrier. I went inside and asked several clerks about it, but none of them even knew she was there!  I am calling her January and she is quite unique. She has a mack tabby head but her body is more of a sable pattern instead of stripes. Here she is and she is not feral at all- just scared out of her wits.01januaryBut can you see what I mean about her body pattern? I will put up found ads on her but suspect someone just dumped her out of their car and took off-

  1. I put her online and lo and behold, she actually belongs to someone who has been looking for her since Aug 2015! I just sent a message to them that I have their kitty. I was going to get her spayed tomorrow because I suspect she might be pregnant but now, I can’t. I have viewed her photos of facebook and if it isn’t the same cat, then it is her sister.

  2. OMG I do hope it is their kitty that just got out and got lost. It would be such a blessing for little January. I had a kitty find me at a grocery store once, he reached up to me wanted me to pick him up. of course I did, and I took him home, vet said he was around 10 months oldish. I called him baby as I did not want to name him or get attached, I wanted to find him a good home. 13 yrs later we lost our Baby, never was able to find a home good enough for him. such a sweet boy, say give me kiss baby and he pressed his mouth to yours, i do miss my little tabby baby boy.

  3. Looks like a Classic Tabby pattern – maybe with some spotted tabby at the end, there?

Hope this is the owner – and you can convince them to spay her!

  4. Well, we placed all our cats last July and thought we were through with rescue, but an orange tabby tom showed up day before yesterday in our yard and, of course, hubby fed him and now he’s lying between our kitchen and livingroom! Well, what did I expect, right?! Don’t know his age, but he hasn’t been “lost” too long — hasn’t been in any/many fights — his ears are totally intact, but he has a couple of scratches on his nose.

Mary Ann, I know you give all your cats a bath soon after you get them, but this cat hasn’t been handled very much — he weighs a ton and doesn’t like being picked up at all. What to do? Will putting flea-and-tick liquid on his neck be good enough? I think he has ear-mites, too, so we’ll have to get some stuff from the vet — and check the latest fees for neutering… The list never ends.

  5. I bathe in a deep bucket. They cling to the edges of the side of the bucket and not so much on my hands or arms. It always works well. I did find that Selsun Blue kills fleas and ticks on cats and kittens and does no other harm, so I thought I would pass that on to you. I would bathe him for sure then when he is dry dose him with Revolution which kills ear mites as well as fleas. I would also use profender on him in a few days (at least 5 days if not more to kill worms)
