I hope she will forgive me

This morning as I loaded Bristol into the carrier (she kept escaping) to take her in to be sedated and clipped-on the last round of “let’s try to stay inside the carrier please!” game, as I shut the door, I didn’t realize her front paw was in the way. 🙁 She gave one scream when I shut the door, and I immediately realized what I did and I scooped her up and loved on her and told her I was so sorry. I checked out her paw and didn’t see any damage nor was there any heat- but I felt horrible about the accident. Her paws are already sore from a botched declaw and I did this to her as well? When I dropped her off I asked them to please examine her paws and make sure I didn’t do major damage to them. But her one scream is still echoing in my ears and I feel like such a scrud.

  1. She’ll be fine, I’m sure. What she is going for will make her feel better all over, and sore paws will quickly be forgotten.

  2. I know that sinking feeling & it’s horrible, isn’t it? Usually it’s the night before TNR surgery. Poor cat, caught in trap, not knowing what’s next. I’m desperate to tell them it’ll be ok but cuddles definitely won’t work w/ the feral crowd. Instead, I make my apologizes by keeping everything dark, quiet & calm. I know the ferals are better after the Vet visit and Miss Bristol will be too! Hope her visit goes smoothly.
